Sritama Mukherjee, Ph.D., is currently working as Post-Doctoral Researcher at Aalto University, Finland. Dr. Mukherjee received her Ph.D. degree (Interdisciplinary: Chemistry & Civil Engineering) from IIT Madras in the year of 2021. Her notable research includes development of sustainable materials for water purification technology. She has published several peer reviewed journals in the context of water purification technology. She has contributed several book chapters on water research. Among of them, one is “Sustainable nanomaterials for clean water”(CRC press, to be published)is highly impactful. She has filed several patents on water purification technology and water sensors. She is the member of American Chemical Society (ACS) and Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI). She has significant contribution in writing proposals for DST, IGSTC and Millennium Alliance Grants, 2018-2020.
Research Area and Expertise
Expertise includes detailed qualitative and quantitative water analyses with sophisticated analytical instrumentation, green synthesis of nanomaterials and piloting for their application in water purification, and smartphone-based optical sensors, whose prototypes are currently at the stage of product development. Environmental impact assessment and application of sustainability for various water-related technologies. Currently, she is working on cellulose-based composites for various applications such as fire-retardant materials, and so on.
