Review Policy

Review Policy of Science Dialectica

  1. Purpose: The purpose of the Science Dialectica (SD) review policy is to ensure the high quality and integrity of the scholarly articles published in the journal. The review process plays a crucial role in maintaining the standards of the journal by evaluating the scientific validity, originality, and significance of the submitted manuscripts.
  2. Peer Review Process: All manuscripts submitted to SD undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality of the research. The process follows the principles of double-blind peer review, where the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
  3. Selection of Reviewers: Reviewers for the submitted manuscripts are selected based on their expertise and knowledge in the respective field. The Editorial Board of SD maintains a diverse pool of reviewers, including researchers, academicians, and industrialist experts from around the globe. Reviewers are chosen to ensure an unbiased evaluation of the manuscript and to provide constructive feedback to the authors.
  4. Reviewer Guidelines: Reviewers are provided with clear guidelines to assess the manuscripts. These guidelines include evaluating the originality, methodology, significance, clarity, and ethics of the research. Reviewers are expected to provide detailed and constructive comments to help authors improve their work. Moreover, the reviewer will focus on the discussion process on the topic of the manuscript in view of maintaining the quality of the manuscript.  They are also encouraged to identify any potential conflicts of interest and disclose them to the editorial office.
  5. Reviewer Confidentiality: Reviewers are required to treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not discuss the content of the manuscript with anyone other than the journal's editorial office. Reviewers should not use the information from the manuscript for their own research or share it with others.
  6. Review Timelines: Reviewers are requested to provide their feedback within a specified timeline, typically within 4-6 weeks of receiving the manuscript. This timeframe helps ensure the timely publication of accepted manuscripts and provides authors with a reasonable waiting period.
  7. Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' feedback, the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board make the final decision on the manuscript. The decision can be one of the following:
  • Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without any further revisions.
  • Minor revisions: The manuscript requires minor revisions to address specific issues identified during the review process.
  • Major revisions: The manuscript requires significant revisions and further evaluation before a final decision can be made.
  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards and is not suitable for publication.
  1. Author Response and Revision: Authors receive the reviewers' comments and are given an opportunity to respond to them. They are expected to address the reviewers' concerns and revise their manuscript accordingly. Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the same reviewers or additional reviewers to ensure that the concerns have been adequately addressed. However, there will be additional comments from the Editorial board to improve the quality of the manuscript.
  2. Ethical Considerations: SD follows strict ethical guidelines, and reviewers are required to report any concerns regarding potential ethical issues such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or conflicts of interest. The journal investigates such concerns thoroughly and takes appropriate action, including rejecting manuscripts and informing relevant authorities if necessary.
  3. Transparency and Openness: SD strives to maintain transparency and openness in the review process. However, the identities of the reviewers are kept confidential to encourage honest and unbiased evaluations. The journal may consider publishing a list of reviewers on an annual basis, with their consent, to acknowledge their valuable contributions.

By adhering to this review policy, SD aims to ensure the quality, integrity, and validity of the published research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in interdisciplinary science.
